Instacart can have issues. Its a roll of the dice, and it looks like in reality 20 in fee's and lots of 10% or more for items they buy, billing issues galore, stolen, lost items issues and customer service is India and they just dont care.Next to impossible to get money if a debit card,MUST use a credit card,if issue, just dispute it and its all taken care of,they dont get paid. And Im sure they are well known to all the card companies.
Looks like wally the better option.
Walmart grocery is where you shop online, but you get it next day at store. They do all shopping, load your car,you dont even have to get out.You are just the delivery driver. If you allow substitutions they will give you a better item for originals price, peeps say thats great. No fee's if you order 35 dollars, you get to shop all the bargains including rollbacks at the site. And they have EVERYTHING!
And the bill is exactly for what you ordered, they will show you order before you sign for it.I think I will take this route.I dont mind the drive overall,it gets us out.I dont mind the great value canned veggies as it will be used in dog food.

My daughters says if she orders an 8 pack of something, and they don't have an 8 pack, they replace it with a 12 pack for the same price. I've asked about the produce too and she hasn't had a problem so far.
The fires are frightening just to look at. I'm glad they're making progress in putting them out.

Yes,the scary LA area inferno stuff is what ours might have been but for a wind change. They are letting canyons burn that dont threaten homes, very smart IMO.Especially since the wind should be done tonight then mop up is easy.Smart, get that load out of the way.We had some gusts last night byt wasnt sustained,so it cleared out a lot of brush that historically where our danger fire start area is.
There are spots at base of mtn canyons in the right wind races uphill and is unstoppable, and that area was on fire and wind reversed direction and pushed against it and really made it tough to race uphill,so barring something unexpected this should turn out well.Initially it looked real bad for us,we are so lucky this time....so far.
Good deal on the fire update. Shame a good rain doesn't come wandering in.
I can see the online grocery thing if physically limited but it holds no appeal for me personally. There is a target in Dothan I stop by for salsa and a couple of things now and then that has one of those drive up deals and I have yet to see anyone there.
Of course wally world is about a block or two away but I go there maybe twice a year. I imagine they have that feature and may be too much for the Target setup. Meh.

Well its funny because I hate wally.Mrs has her drugs via medicare is contracted to wally, and my thyroid is 1/4th the price at wally vrs next cheaper,so WTH,I go into pharmacy.
Yes,the wally pick up grocery thing is in its infancy here too, only been around less than 2 years I reckon.
I am thrifty when I shop, almost exclusively shop only the advertised loss leaders. What shocked the heck outta me wally regular prices are as low as you can find on sale elsewhere at daily low prices....if you shop carefully.BUT....the wallys stores here are filthy dumps, the carts are totally trashed,I mean come on,carts that drag hard with literally broken wheels with chunks out of em.The typical wally shopper is pretty low life too. Then the store is HUGE so you have to push the son of a gun forever, and the rude shoppers, out of control kiddies from zero parenting and huge slow checkouts.Just a cluster (tr)uck.
But go online to the website all you do is click on the item,it goes into the cart, pick a pick up time and done. They bring everything to your car on a cart, load your bags, and put in car.Show whatever card you use, sign and done.As easy as taking a pleasure drive, remember those?
The nephew who does it says he does so because he doesnt impulse shop.Didnt impress me,I have shopping control. But when the epiphany hit that I wont be sore and hobbling after an hour in store,I was poleaxed between the eyes. This is exactly what I need.
Then talking with sis who has groceries delivered to her door,i said this is great. But costs more than 20% easy extra on bill without getting any bargains, out of my league. You have service fee 5.99,plus another 5.99 delivery fee, plus a 10% tip added on,finally an extra 5% on total cost, and thats cheap, the total over retail can be 20% or more, depending on store. Then you dont even get a receipt, you take their word on what they are overcharging without any proof. Here the Stater Bros limits them to only overbilling by 5%.
That will only work when Im unable to leave house,so an option, just not the best so far.
Wally pick up is whatever inside store price is what you pay,and zero fee's for 35 dollar or more orders. All you are is the delivery driver. No game playing at all on costs. And no trash wally store experience which is world class absolute worse IMO.Lets see, shop inside wally (or anywhere for that matter),or shop from my clean living room,no brainer there.
So yup, wally will get my business.Wally used to be the competition killer, now they are the competitor to Bezos the Evil.Anything that slows dowm Bezo's is a good thing IMO.And if other stores want to give the same service as Wally,go for it,I will shop them too.Ball is in their court if they are to compete or not, their free choice, not a wally is killing them scenario, its a them killing themselves if they choose not to compete on an equal playing field.
Target is still playing games on charging for online ordering/pick up.Plus their 'woke' garbage, catering to perverts, they arent getting my support.Any store or anything that thinks they are in the politics business can pound sand.We used to shop Macy's,they blew it with their politics.Same with proctor and gamble.Sorry,I have choices to not support their hate/pervert/evil policies.I check,if its P&G,not buying.

I will shop at ElSuper for produce on way home from wally, thats a quick shop.
Then on off weeks will hit Albertsons for meat sale only, and stop at Aldis right down the street for eggs, frozen veg/fruits and canned veggies. Those are quick and only a small part of shopping volume wise. Those are the bargains and aldis has organic canned veggies around 50 cents a can, that price is at least half, maybe 1/3rd of normal grocery store prices for non organic. They also have 1 lb cheeses at 2.99'lb vrs 3.39 from wally. We will see if I get the wally cheese or not. They both are way over on other side of valley, separate trip for them will be a lot easier.
Those are my in store value shopping I want to keep,it isnt strenuous at all to hit them.15 minutes easy in and out.No huge walk finding all the groceries there that wally will just put in my car for us.Just time,I have a lot of that.
Albertson,walk to meat counter,grab and leave.Aldis,canned goods,then eggs and frozen section,and out.Fast,minimal walk,and savings galore.

My online order.Think I got some deals. The only way to deal with Wally.....dont go in. Supposedly persil soap is a good one.Yes indeed, they can deliver this heavy and bulky item list,no need for me to shop it when it comes to the gate. These prices are hard to beat.Candy for Christmas for Mrs....I hope?
When she gets home we will do the first pickup order, she needs to add and delete as she wants it.Cool, you mark with a heart everything you buy all the time. Then go to favorites and its there, just order your normals without having to go through site search.I set up a lot of that today for the future orders. ---------------------------- Item Qty Total Purina Dog Chow Dry Dog Food, Complete Adult With Real Chicken, 50 lb. How the Walmrt delivery is going.Ordered DEC 10.
You get emails when something is processed and when its shipped.I get email that dog food is being shipped. From KANSAS,50 lbs, that seems dumb.
Next email DEC 11 is Dog food delayed.Last night DEC 11,email shipped from the Bloomington Wally,30 miles away. That makes sense.
First delivery.Today, dog food is at the gate.FEDEXDelivered DEC 12.
Tomorrow I should get the bulk of order most all from the Bloomington Wally. Will be interesting to see what all makes it in that delivery.Final package is Russel Stover candies and TP.No idea when, just says before DEC 18
OK,Ivory soap came from Kansas, its in Bloomington FEDEX now.Arrives tomorrow,Friday12/13,as well most of order shipped from the Bloomington Wally that is also in Bloomington FEDEX right now.
Assorted candy from Texas,in pipeline,Arrives Saturday 12/14.Toilet tissue and Russel Stover candy shipped from Nevada today, arrive before DEC 18,I will guess much sooner.
Sounds involved,to me its shipping fast and efficiently, impressed so far.Last delivery all came in 2 days, not bad.

Ordered on DEC 10,all here by DEC 14
1st delivery Wednesday the 11th, 50 lbs dogfood .No issues at all. They couldnt decide where to ship it from, came from local warehouse in the end.
2nd delivery was 2 boxes on Friday the 13th.Box with liquid laundry detergent was in bad shape, both ziplock baggie packages were squished, had to tape boxes back. All else traveled OK though box was a crushed, split disaster that looked like it was taped up enroute. They really overloaded it with weight.Poorly done on that one.I will be sure to give feedback on that.
This is what was delivered Friday. From local warehouse
Ivory Ultra Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid Dish Soap, Classic Scent, 24 fl oz $2.67 2 $5.34 Came in its own form fitting box

If youre thinking thats crazy shipping, its not. Those trucks run their routes 24/7,whether its hauling my package, or yours to local store, all of us get our goods from all over the country as wally and everyone else parcels out to various areas and warehouses and stores.
Does the whole product delivery scheme sound wasteful, probably is vrs local goods, but what can you really get made locally? Not much.
Thats my take on the whole rigamarole,I like it overall.
2-Home delivery free
3-Shop from comfort of my home, not with lowlifeville at Walmart
4-Im not shopping for exercise,I get all I can handle right here at home
5-No heavy lifting
6-No pushing heavy square wheeled crappy carts 50 miles (as i say,not shopping for the exercise)
7-No unloading at checkout,no loading and unloading car,no driving,no car expenses
8-No screaming back pain
9-No major 1 day shopping at 5 stores, too much for us overall anymore, and nice not having car expenses that has put us in major shop at 1 time mode
10-Final delivery from warehouse-Fedex and UPS drive by my house daily, once a day.Doesnt change costs, doesnt use more fuel whether they stop for me or not, they are going to be on my street almost every day regardless. And all 5 close neighbors all order tons online too.Its the future. Here now.
11-Yup,its all right in my book,I cant change how they deliver so I'll just go with the flow.If I didnt use it the system will still be doing what it does. 12-Did I mention NO SCREAMING BACK PAIN??
No pain is a serious feature of what you are doing. I do hope they do not change the game on you. Rode into Dothan this late morning with the widow and did some shopping-yes, the Pig-and had lunch at a sorta Mexican place. I always get these looks when I go into a place being minus an arm and wearing an eye patch so once in a while I tell the wait staff that I was a pirate in the Caribbean for many years. It is fun to see the recoil in their eyes! I should maybe do a version of Jack Sparrow or something... may as well have fun with it. Oh-found a working string of bubble lights at a thrift and the cat is mesmerized. I am not far behind.

[The wally trip was really amazing.I ordered the stuff on the computer as site is larger and easier to navigate then the phone that with a tiny screen Im NOT impressed by. Then I did checkout on computer and left cell phone number. When ready for you to come on down they send an email that says go to the phone app and sign in.Go to app and it asks if they may track your devices location.Click yes and it says all checked in,no further action needed.
So when you pull up to loading spot they see you on GPS and in minutes Destiny(very nice personable young lady) came out with the groceries.I helped her load into bags because I know how I like them divided up.Then you sign name on a tablet and done.Pretty amazing.I ordered some tomatoes just to see how will they pick produce and they picked good ones.Destiny also shopped my groceries and gave me her card for the followup review they send you to fill in if you want to.I did on computer and gave her excellent review. That matters to them as they get graded by big brother wally based on that.I talked to the other customer there getting loaded and she was also hugely pleased with the concept/service too.
I had 1 item out of stock, pepper jack cheese, and 8 substitutions I accepted(you can accept or deny subs)instead of Ivory soap I accepted same amt of Dawn for same price.Out of great value green beans so got DelMonte for same price.Canned black beans they were out of,got Bushes brand instead of great value brand.14 oz of coconut organic oil out so they gave me 29 oz jar at same cheaper price.I like how you dont pay more for the substitutions, they honor price on what you ordered, pretty neat. All In all was very slick and Im hugely impressed by the whole operation,Fast, efficient and the furthest I had to walk for 175 dollars of groceries was from car to trunk. This is just what I needed.
the canned veggies were 48/can,cant beat that!Doggies were missing their canned peas. So answered that, for the large major shopping for groceries, this is going to be what I do. ===========================================
