Excited for garden this year.Fruit trees all bloomed, and our daffodils and tulips are up.Decided we are going to get about 200 bulbs this year and really do up the yard.No water, color, have to love em.
The tomatoes in buckets, have one sweet 1 million and 2 sweet 100's so far, need about 3 more. They suffered minimal transplant shock and getting a good 6 week jump on season in greenhouse. It was 54 and breezy yesterday,in greenhouse was 64 and calm and humid a bit, beautiful conditions, hit 77 in there in afternoon. That is pleasing.Think Ive finally got the tomatoes down to a science.Im planting plenty to share with neighbors.
Wasnt excited to do aquaponics but filled in with lettuce, cut green onions and did cuttings of thyme, oregano and sage and all are rooting great, especially the oregano, wouldnt even know they were cuttings theyve responded so well.Getting extras as they overwinter,So thats cool.Fish are fantastic. My little clones didnt do anything but I have a couple leaf lettuce cores i left about 6 leaves on,they are stable, hope they grow. Also trying some kale cuttings,we shall see.
Doing carrots in bucket, sprouting some on counter. They are a few years old, maybe thats why I fail carrots all the time. When I go to town just going to get fresh seeds and plant in same bucket to be sure.

Put 20 basil in aquaponics,they look great.Got 3 sweet 100's into pots in hoophouse,did well.Its 50's and high wind,its 50's and no wind inside,crazy amt better.It must be -90 windchill out there,its freakin' cold!!
Need to get 3 shishito peppers and 3 husky red cherries toms planted today. They will go into buckets, need to see if peppers can go into thyme and oregano pots.
Learned today rosemary and sage are great together.

Crud.Have a couple baby toms and flowers BUT....May snow tonight and may even have this weather pattern another 10-14 days.So I dragged the pots back into the greenhouse and only left out the winter hardy kales and spices.

100 days, first carrots ever.A little stump variety.I left in 2 to overwinter and next season they will make seeds, they are biennials.Planted 3 more containers, end gets its own shade as big umbrella wont cover it and a harsh afternoon sun there.
