Hi everyone , , been a long time . I have been busy working , and unfortunately recently lost my grandfather which has been pretty hard to deal with . My husband & I are doing great though . I hope this finds everyone doing well and being able to enjoy this nicer weather too. Take care everyone , hugs to all .
Yes, as a matter of fact I got home late last night....after 35.5 hours on the road... Eldest is now married, to a wonderful girl. She is a sweetie, and you know my son loves her, he let her get him in a tux, dance in public, grow his hair out and let it be styled...and their friends are wonderful...her family wasn't much help in planning this thing, so it was all the friends, and they would do anything to make sure their friends day was special...it was really something.
The car did great - once we got to the flat lands it went up to 69 mph...4 tanks of gas (10 gallon tank) from Maine to KS
Found a local winery...interesting enough, the ones I liked the best were the ones that the grapes came from their property. I also found that I can now tell the difference in home grown sausage and store bought, and the same with scrambled eggs - the hotel served breakfast
Okay, back to unpacking, laundry, sorting mail etc...vacations are wonderfu, why do we have to come back?
Spuds, were you planning on winning the lottery? Most I have gotten in Colorado one was $3. I do not buy tickets in years now. I use buy one or two once in a while.
The sausages I was buying was Colorado fresh brats. Good. Get a big package and freeze them. I have made turkey sausage. Just one left that I know of and pretty that cleans all them out of the freezer. He still have not put any beef in my freezer.
No, on the solar panels...we need to wait till the weather stays clear, calling for storms this weekend- guess I should explain further...the ground is too wet and the ladder isn't stable, so still no more outside projects for a little while longer.
You are right Spuds, we never know what it will be. Life sure can get rough. Best laid plans of mice and men. I expected I could stay where I was. Was getting all set there. At 80 this is rough. Emotionally and doing it. Where to put stuff. Not enougn space. House and lawn takes up 3/4 of the lot it loots to me. Why a cross fence behind the house to enclose the lawn. ? I have no say as do not own it. Side fence to that from the front. Back to the alley all open with sheds to the south and the north fence on the other place. I will have to pay for a100 foor of fence to discourge the deer. What fence they will put? But he said in front they will run a run a cement edge for the flower beds I want. I really do not like cement but it will stop the grass and plants forn mixing. One in each front corner of the lot. So land behind the cross fence it seems is mine to plant and put a shed. I do not understand why she has planned it that way? Things are circle here and half circles designs. Dor glass. one window, steps and trim on the house. I said to my son the corner beds would go with that. Be a quarter circle. Will see what she does. Rather I will buy plants for it. I want hardy ones. He said a side walk from porch to that fence so can get the garden part. I would have to cut cross the lawn. I do too to go get mail in good weather. I go down the alley 1/2 block to the mail boxes. I am in center of the block. Why the cross fence instead of at the alley I do not know. He said that is her plan and she does that.
I have been having hard time to get microwave door open. Cheap one from Walmart that does not have a button to make it open. Only one I could find with a dial. I did not want push buttons. This one you yank the door open. Few mornings ago I could not get open for my morning cup of hot stuff. I did get open finally and I oiled the two latches both on door and inside. Nothing moves on this one anyway. I use Q tip and 3 in 1 oil. It now opens like it should. I was about ready to toss it. Small but takes a plate of food. I wold not want to try cooking it really as seems to get hot. But it does the job and heast my cup of water or plate of food fine. $33. Getting old I guess.
What really is in fashion for older women in clothes. No did not find out. Looked up little black dress and OMG are they little. Not that I care if my clothes are in fashion on not at my age. My jacket that came with the dress I bought is as long. I tried the dress on and little big under the arms but okay and I think I may take it up there. Length is fine as few inches below my knees. It is a Petite size so will no have to hem it up. I will wear my dresses if I wear one the length I want. At my age. I guess anything goes now in fashion. I do not think they dress for anything in this town. No idea what they wear if they go to church. Some on the senior bus do dress but very few. I was dressing to be warm. Why bought the small thick blanket to use on the bus. And a bag. Bag a liitle big but will hold the blanket and room for what I need take.
