There are 2 flavors of Husky. There is the Siberian Husky,an AKC recognized breed.
Then there is the Alaskan Husky, which is a mutt. More accurately they are more referred to as 'sled dogs' ,They can be a mix of many husky type dogs, and can include GSD and border collies even. They have eyes from blue to mixed to brown. They will have curled tails, strong shoulders, strong legs, bred to go 40 miles at a shot, and weigh in the 35-50 lbs range. They are not BIG like a malamute or Siberian, but are primo sled dogs and the most popular sled animal from what Im reading.
Chewing the Christmas bone is Snooky,an Alaskan Husky Im pretty sure, the GSD is pure GSD. Got the rawhide bones, shaped as candy canes for 7.99 at Petco after Christmas, was that a steal or what, bought 4,shoulda bought more.

They are so beautiful, Spuds !!!
Nothing to do with dogs, but pigs tails do curl when they are happy and hang straight when they are sad. Just another bit of information that I have retained, now if I could remember where I put things....

Cant believe Snooks is still growing,75 lbs last visit to vet and has put on more, and this is rock solid weight.Knows no fear and is definitely not going to be anything but a top dog at the park, wont back down to others at all.Unlike Girl who wont even bother with it,Snooks wont stand for it AT ALL.Only treats one dog as her superior,a very handsome large wolf mix.
So her confidence has soared too,she is very happy and has figured out this is her forever home.

Went to dog park and Snookie behaved.
Was a Chihuahua min pin mix ,tiny and taking on any dog there, snooks who likes to eat little scared squirrel dogs was most impressed and had great fun playing with him.So VERY nice she got to see a little dog acting like a DOG and could grasp the concept. And she didn't nip at anyone getting in her face, tho I had to talk her down initially til she relaxed.Wish I could spend more time there and get her more comfy.
Little guy jumping up to snap at her face, she would turn head and just look so amused, they had great fun running and little guy nipping at her,and the LG,what an awesome little dog,he took on 2 dogs at once,he was NOT impressed with their size, big dogs all very amused at such a fun little fella!!!
Everyone there was well behaved and running making dirt clouds, about 8 dogs

Title this one DUMMY.
You know Ive had problems with Snooky and the TOPDOG Husky attitude thing.
Couple days ago at Dogpark,a fat old female Husky mix,who just wanted to be left alone.
So Snooky takes that as submissive, gets in her face and gives her 'the sideways look' Keanna gives the look right back and in an Instant Snooky makes a nip at her face.
Keanna EXPLODES into action with teeth going (Hey fool,Im a HUSKY TOO,now YOU die) and knocks down Snooks.S runs away and gives an over shoulder nip and K bulls into her again and pins her with teeth flashing!
K's Mom and I break up the fight.Snooks takes off and doesnt raise a hair, much less a hackle to anyone.
Keanna goes and sits by the bench with a HUGE SMILE on her face, the QUEEN of the dogpark. That dog hasnt had so much fun in YEARS!!!
K's Mom and I just laughed and laughed at dummy Snooks.Just because its old and fat doesnt mean there isnt a Tasmanian devil inside!!!
So Snooky learned some manners,ie,just because Girl LETS her push her around doesnt mean others will, and beware what you ask for,it can blow up in your face!
And Keanna,I'll bet she is STILL smiling, she kicked Snookies butt for sure and was the QUEEN of all there, something SHE wasnt planning on at all, most fun she's had in YEARS!
And yes, that Husky attitude thing is just not anything Ive ever seen before, boy are they STUBBORN.I hope it made an impression on her,we watch her close but they can get in trouble so quick you cant stop em all,not good,we are trying.I THINK she learned, she walked around K a wide berth rest of day,K just smiled at her from ear to ear!
It was Hilarious though for her to meet another Husky with the exact same attitude about being challenged, and one smarter and stronger than her .And thank goodness K's Mom understood and could laugh about it,guess she knows the drill with K too.But I sure need to break that habit, she got a good earful of BAAAD DOG!!!! and that really crushes her, they cant stand being criticized.

BTW,dogs have gotten much better being home alone. We still drug em for when we work, but now leave whole house open for them but still put things to keep em off counter tops.Been leaving them home a lot now during day when we go do things, and they are handling it well, the separation anxiety so much better.
Not spending much time as we were at dog park as they are doing better at home.
Took Snooky to vet,86 dollars,1 impacted anal gland with an external rupture, small thing,VERY swollen...toe nail clipping and antibiotics. She has to go back in 10 days, glad it wasnt worse as it could have gone all the way up to surgery. She is about 9 years or so old?
