Nanosolar is delivering panels at a production cost of 1 dollar per watt! ============================================= NEW YORK (Reuters) - Nanosolar, a privately held solar energy company whose backers include Google Inc's (GOOG.O) co-founders, on Tuesday said it has started to sell what it calls "the world's lowest cost solar panel."
"We have begun shipping panels for freefield deployment in Eastern Germany," said Chief Executive Martin Roscheisen in a statement on Nanosolar's Web site. "The first megawatt of our panels will go into a power plant installation there,"
The company, which got early stage financing from Google Inc co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, uses a thin-film technology that requires only a fraction of the amount of silicon needed in conventional solar cells.
Nanosolar's technique allows it to make panels profitably for less than $1 per watt, it says.
Solar power and other renewable energies such as wind, biomass, and geothermal comprise one of the fastest-growing energy sectors.

LOTS of folks bought grid tied solar and now losing their houses.I saw a HUGE 11,600 watt system complete for 28,000.Thats a complete system with 2 inverters, racks, wiring, fusing, etc for 2.40 a watt!Add your own batteries, you wouldnt need many with that kind of production!
CHEAPEST panel Ive ever bought was 4 dollars a watt, last year prices were as high as 8 dollars/watt.
Go the Craigslist, search the word solar.I cant believe it,lots of 3 dollar/watt panels,Ive seen em as low as 2.20!
And panels with certain issues as low as 1.54....they make rated power but have bad 'shells' or such, cracks, etc.
Anybody who still has money your chance for solar is here...NOW!

Have a line on Kyocera and BP panels, total 740 watts for 2 dollars a watt, went to bank for money, now if guy doesnt flake on me I can get em tonight or tomorrow am.That would be half the total I need to power what I want when we go offgrid.
Wound up with 794 watts of panels for 1420 dollars.Gave me a 50 watter free because glass cracked, and half price in a 75 watter with a damaged frame,
Paid 2 dollars a watt for the rest.
Worth the drive of 90 miles each way for sure, average price right now is about 4.50/watt plus shipping on new panels.Saved about 2000 dollars, wow!
Going to get some panels tomorrow for get this....ONE DOLLAR a watt!!!!!
120 watt (13 ea) and 75 watt (4 ea) solar panels. Asking $1.00 per watt. Email or Call Ron
==================== and one of these 170's for my Bud's golf cart project
$130 for 150's.... $150 for 170's both slightly used. Quantity prices available. $290 ea. for the last 20 230watters! NEW Great Products, great price. Installing yourself returns 15-20% on investment. Also you get a 30% tax credit. Amazing time to install a Photo Voltaic electric system. Best if you have a south facing roof!

Everyone think good thoughts on these panels,Ron has 1820 watts at a dollar/watt,Im going to offer him 1500 for the lot and see if he bites.Add to that a 30% tax credit it would come to 57 CENTS per watt, amazing!!!!!!
Time to make a deal, this is just too good to pass up!
See him tomorrow afternoon,my bank opens at noon, and its a 2 hour drive to him,and hit the other guy for the 170 watter for Bud.
Wonderful-hope it works for you. The power rate here has jumped since we are now selling/giving power to California. Somehow some idiot has determined that hydro power is NOT a renewable resource(?!)and we are being penalized for that also. I guess I will get some help and try setting up the water wheel in the creek.
No trackers, have a little solar for barn and on truck.
My site is poor here for solar,if SHTF I would deploy em here anyhow, would do lights, some tv,comp,mixers,etc.....,these are more for 'the move' if it ever happens, got about 3800 watts now, thats enough to run all we run here now easily. So set to off grid in style far as electricity goes.
Hard to believe I now have what would have been 16,000 in panels just a few years back for about 3,500 (with the tax credits) over a couple years, just cant believe it.
Cant believe those prices. When I started buying I paid 4 dollars/watt,Bud paid 4.50 in 2007 and we thought he did good.Bad economy has been very good for solar buyers.
Cant pass it up,every time in past when i know I cheaped out and didnt jump I lost out, I was right, learned lesson, when the bargain presents you have to buy then .
Say it again peoples, its time to buy solar if you ever wanted some.
